MANCHESTER, Jun 3 (SW) - In their last friendly match ahead of the upcoming World Cup, England easily defeated Jamaica 6-0.

Jamaica were given no chance to attack in the first half, and England seemed to be the only team on the pitch.

Midfielder Frank Lampard opened the score after ten minutes, and Sven Goran Eriksson's side was then helped by own goals from Jermaine Taylor and Omar Daley.

Striker Michael Owen netted the fourth after 31 minutes, and England seemed to be heading for a monster score at Old Trafford in Manchester.

But it took until the 66th minute for Peter Crouch to score the fifth goal in a second half that was not half as impressive as the first.

In the 88th minute, Crouch added a second to set the final score to 6-0.

Although the win will have given the English a confidence boost, it was not all positive: Eriksson had to take off John Terry and Ashley Cole in the first half, as both players suffered light injuries.

And another worry for the manager may be his side's performance from the penalty spot. At 5-0, Peter Crouch had a chance to score the sixth - which he did do eventually -, but the Liverpool striker struck well over the crossbar.

It is the second missed penalty for England in two friendly games, as Lampard missed his spotkick against Hungary last week.
