LEICESTER, May 29 (SW) - Ghana continued their preparations for the 2006 World Cup finals with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Jamaica at Walkers Stadium on Monday.
Some of Ghana's bigger names came to the fore, the first being Udinese's Sulley Ali Muntari as he opened the scoring in the fifth minute before an own goal by Damion Stewart gave the Black Stars an early 2-0 lead.
Jamaica came out strong in the second half as Jason Euell pulled back an equalizer in the 58th minute, but later goals by Fenerbahçe's Stephen Appiah and Borussia Dortmund's Matthew Amoah extended the advantage to 4-1, ensuring Ratomir Dujkovic's men would leave with an easy win.
Ghana have one more friendly before the World Cup begins, an encounter with Korea Republic on 4 June in Glasgow before their opening Group E match against Italy. Jamaica will provide opposition to England on 3 June in Manchester.
Notes: Defends Shilla Illiasu and Habib Mohammad both won their first-ever Ghana caps in the win.
