LONDON (AFP) - AC Milan technical director Brazilian Leonardo admitted Monday the Italian club were running the rule over Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor.

"It's no secret we're interested in signing a forward and are studying candidates. Drogba is a fine player and Adebayor is a player I really like. We are waiting for the right time to move," Leonardo told the BBC.

Togo striker Adebayor last week expressed an interest in joining Barcelona but has also said Italy would appeal, hinting he feels it was time to move on.

Milan are after reinforcements after offloading Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina, while veteran Ronaldo has a serious knee injury.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani last month said he had made Adebayor his club's "sole transfer target" of the summer, while suggesting the Togolese would prove too expensive with Barca also in the hunt and, unlike the Italians, in the Champions League.

Ivory Coast forward Drogba has meanwhile been linked with AC Milan but also city rivals Inter and Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Leonardo meanwhile insisted that Brazilian playmaker Kaka was not for sale, despite reports Sunday quoting AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani as saying Chelsea have put a big-money offer on the table for him.

"I can only repeat what we keep saying - there is no possibility of Kaka moving away from Milan. We have not received an official bid for him. He is very close to AC Milan and has a very, very good relationship with the club," Leonardo said.

Giorgio, I do not wish to see Didier Drogba with my AC Milan. He was the player who, during the World Cup Finals, purposely kicked Fabio Grosso in the ankle when the referee wasn't watching. Grosso was in front of the French barrier at the time Pirlo was hitting a free kick. If you watch the replay, you will clearly see that Drogba did it intentionally. I do not want those dishonest players in my favorite team!

Drogba for AC Milan? What a joke?

Guuner66 July 7th, 2008 20:27

awww grown Tonto. he is a goo player and you have no strikers to speak of anyway at the moment. all you have is an old team with a bunch of midfielders. Any of these 2 players would improve u. and then maybe just maybe you can make it to the champions league next year. AC was just sorry last season man.

sifet123 July 7th, 2008 20:29

if Drogba gose to Ac.Milan then Kaka is going to Fc.Chelsea

chakal July 7th, 2008 21:20

Drogba would do better in Spain, he is more tecnical, than strong. now the other one who cares he played with arsenal.

ajax72 July 7th, 2008 22:10

Drogba's too good for Milan.
Tonto WTF are you talking about? What has Drogba to do with the french national team? Or it's some nightmare that's haunting you?

Tontodonati July 7th, 2008 22:56

Ajax72, I'm sorry. I must have had the wrong guy in mind. You know? When you're as old as I am, mental lapses are common! What was the name of that French player who kicked Fabio Grosso?

SAJNSHE July 8th, 2008 02:28

ok Tontodonati but am not say am better but am asking u really because u r elder , when did drogba vs grosso in which world cup finals just think me plz i ll wait ur answer , & leave ajax72 alone because he always refuse any opinion of any person even me :D

FManiac24 July 8th, 2008 02:56

Stupidity! Adebayor can do well for Milan, but I think the situation with Drogba will be the same as with Shevchenko when he moved to Chelsea, or with Henry! Milan board should better search for youngsters!

BesTalentScout July 8th, 2008 05:23

Milan hoping one of these 2 guys will be the new George Weah ?............LOL

of the two, Adebayor is the better choice since he's younger..............he'll get a better re-sale value if he screws up............

BesTalentScout July 8th, 2008 05:27

Tonto,

there's no more honesty and loyalty in football...................

speaking of honesty, Milan's collapse against Liverpool in the Champions League final while Milan was 3-0 up is very suspicious..............

i saw the 3 goals Liverpool scored and frankly i believe at least the Milan keeper ( Doni, right? ) betted on a Liverpool draw/win at half-time at Willhill or Ladbrokes...........LOL............

or maybe the mafia is involved........imagine the money they made thanks to Liverpool's 'miraculous' recovery.............LOL

Giorgio July 8th, 2008 08:23

TalentScout,
Maybe you're right.
But there is not doubt that LIverpool won that final against Milan, because, on the night, they got lucky !!!!

Giorgio July 8th, 2008 08:25

Ajax,
This foul-mouth kid Sajnshe seems to think that you antagonise everybody on this blog !!
Well, we need to tell him that, I, for one, will testify to the contrary !!

Tontodonati July 8th, 2008 12:44

SAJNSHE, if you were more polite in your espressions, nobody would ignore you! Now, watch the WC Finals between France and Italy and you'll see Fabio Grosso being purposely kicked in the ankle just before A. Pirlo hits the free kick. I thought it was Drogba but it could be . . . Malouda or something like that. Please Refresh my memory

Giorgio July 8th, 2008 14:49

Fred,
Drogba has never played for the French national team. I think he plays for Ghana, or maybe some other country in Central Africa.

chakal July 8th, 2008 16:51

Ivory coast my friends, he plays for ivory coast national team

Kitosan July 8th, 2008 19:44

It's always an enjoyment to see the the Italians fans here with comments. Drogba's a Ghana players is the best feedback i've seen so far. I think you referring to Essien rite. Come on, you must known other players beside the Italian players or players in Italy ....hehhehehhee

ajax72 July 8th, 2008 22:02

Ragazzi, lasciamo stare. Better posting bs here than wanking and growing warts on his palms.:)
I can't get the brat's point, but even if I did I couldn't care less.

Tontodonati July 9th, 2008 01:34

Kitosan, your profile shows that your full name is Jonky-Gui-tar.You supposed to be from Malasya but your favorite team is Portsmouth. Don't you have a soccer league in your country?

Giorgio July 9th, 2008 08:56

Kitosan,
It doesn't take much to amuse you !!! I honestly thought that Drogba plays for Ghana. So what's the big deal ??????

Kitosan July 9th, 2008 17:52

It's no big deal actually as long as you are not offended. Being one of the world's country soccer power house and of course top team fan in Italy i am just suprise n funny on your comment. Of course there's local league in my country which i am sure you might have no clue probably where it is. You won't find any player that you know of in this league but maybe i can find one Drogba from Ghana here :D
