MADRID (AFP) - Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta left hospital on Wednesday to join up with his team-mates in Santander after being treated for a severe bout of food poisoning.
While the Barcelona star will not play in Wednesday's warm-up match with the United States team doctors said he should be fit enough to take part in the Spaniards first Euro 2008 match against Russia on June 10 in Innsbruck.
Iniesta is making a good recovery after he was struck down having eaten something bad on Sunday, and being taken to hospital overnight on Monday when his state deteriorated.
Iniesta should be able to resume light training on Thursday.
Spain, who are seeking to emulate the 1964 team in winning the European crown, will also play Sweden on June 14, also in Innsbruck, and titleholders Greece on June 18 in Salzburg.
