HALF TIME - The first half is over with Germany leading 1-0 in the Austrian town of Klagenfurt. Joachim Löw's men also created the better chances, although Poland were close to equalising in a few occasions as well. Minute 44: Poland are still trying but haven't been able to create any real chances in this phase of the game. Minute 39: Ebi Smolarek fouls Per Mertesacker and is the first player in this match to receive a yellow card from Swedish referee Ovrebo. Minute 36: Poland come close to levelling the score as Zurawski receives the ball in the penalty area but his diagonal shot goes just wide of the far post. Minute 35: Shots from Krzynowek and Lewandowski are both blocked by Ballack, who now shows his importance in defense. Minute 32: Dangerous attack from Germany and Podolski sends in a fast cross from the left but Bak clears just in time. Minute 31: Germany get a free kick as Michael Ballack is brought down by Krzynowek. Ballack takes it but hits the wall. Minute 28: Shot from a difficult angle by Lobodzinski but Lehmann controls the ball. Minute 27: Podolski's corner is way too high and reaches no-one. Minute 27: Corner kick to Germany on the right side. Minute 20: GOAL GERMANY (1-0) - LUKAS PODOLSKI has the easy task of shooting into an empty goal after receiving the ball from another Polish-born attacker, Miroslav Klose. A well-performed attack and Germany lead! Minute 16: Free kick to Germany on the right wing. Podolski almost finds Metzelder but a defender gets to it first. Minute 12: Chance for Germany as a Klose effort ends up near Podolski, but the latter Polish-born striker doesn't manage to head towards goal. Minute 9: Dangerous low cross from Lobodzkinski but nobody gets a foot to it. Minute 4: Enormous chance to Germany as Klose storms towards the goal with Gomez on the right side. Klose makes the pass but Gomez fails to convert for 1-0. Poland feel it was off-side in the first place. Minute 2: Lehman looks a bit shakey in the goal and allows Krzynowek to try a shot but it goes high. Kick-off: The fourth match of Euro 2008 has begun, and Poland will attempt to beat Germany for the first time ever.
