Coach Carlos Brito has stepped down at Leixões SC after Sunday's 2-1 defeat at A. Naval 1º de Maio left the club 14th in the 16-team Portuguese Liga.
"I recognise the honesty and dignity shown by Carlos Brito, but maybe he couldn't get his message across to the players or someone didn't let him work," said club president Carlos Oliveira. Brito's assistant António Pinto will take charge for the next game against FC Porto.
