Olympique Lyonnais captain Cris has put himself in contention for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League trip to Manchester United FC after making his comeback in today's 1-0 win against LOSC Lille Métropole.

The 30-year-old central defender has been out since August with a knee injury but after the Ligue 1 game at the Stade de France said: "[I am] also ready to start in Manchester. I felt good but only the coach will decide." Jean-Alain Boumsong is the other candidate to partner Sébastien Squillaci.
